2011 Film Technology Summit

NEW Announcement (10/20/11): We are pleased to announce that Shawn Levy, Director/Producer will keynote at the event! Levy is one of the most commercially successful film directors of the past decade. To date, his films have grossed over 1.6 billion dollars worldwide. Currently, Levy’s futuristic father-son boxing drama, Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman, for DreamWorks Pictures, is in theatres. The hit film opened October 7th at the top of the worldwide box office. Levy also serves as executive producer of the new hit ABC comedy Last Man Standing, starring Tim Allen. In addition to his directing slate, Levy is currently producing the comedy Neighborhood Watch, starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill. In 2010, Levy directed and produced Date Night, with a cast that included Steve Carell, Tina Fey, James Franco, Mila Kunis, Mark Wahlberg, Kristin Wiig, and Mark Ruffalo. Levy also produced and directed the blockbuster Night at the Museum franchise, which featured the comedic work of a stellar cast which included Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Ricky Gervais, Hank Azaria, Amy Adams, Christopher Guest, Jonah Hill, Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney. Prior to that, Levy directed the hit comedies Pink Panther and Cheaper by the Dozen.

will keynote at the 2011 Film Technology Summit! Always pushing boundaries in special effects for film, Emmerich has directed, produced and written many of the biggest-grossing films worldwide. His credits include 2012, 10,000 B.C., The Day After Tomorrow, The Patriot and Independence Day. His next release, the political thriller Anonymous will premiere on Oct. 28

The Film Technology Summit is a one-day event focusing on the latest innovations for producing content and improving the theatrical experience. With filmmaking now squarely set in the digital age, we will look at how current technologies have impacted the below-the-line workflow, production, distribution and exhibition of movies. Hollywood’s special effects wizards will talk about how they are pushing boundaries in creating stand-out imagery in their films and what the future holds for CGI. Keynotes, panels, and presentations will be followed by audience Q&A;, giving attendees unrivaled access to top Hollywood execs and talent.
